Just a note to let followers of the long drawn out Bad Planet saga know that issue #6 has finally been put to bed. It's being lettered and colored as we speak and should see print by then end of September. If you've been following the book you know that it hasn't been exactly regular. We lost our first penciler, Lewis LaRosa to "personal issues" and it took us the better part of 7 months to replace him with current pencil extraordinaire James Daly. As inker, my own personal schedule and 3 months out of the loop last fall production designing Thomas Jane's directorial debut, Dark Country were big set-backs. More recently my attention was again deflected while laying out and editing my new art book Archetype. But finally issue #6 is close at hand!
Soon we'll all get to see BAD PLANET issue #6, and the glorious cover artwork supplied by the legendary Dave Stevens who passed away earlier this year. Bad Planet #6 was Dave's last cover in the world of comics , a bittersweet moment for us at RAW as we've lost a dear friend. Dave's impact on the comics industry, and his loss was felt by everyone who recently attended the San Diego Comicon. We love and miss you Dave.

On a more uplifting note, pictured above is the wondrous, eye-popping cover to our collected trade edition of Bad Planet, brought to you by the talented hands of Mr. Basil Gogos! Gogos is the grand-daddy of monster pop iconography. His dozens of covers for Famous Monsters Of Filmland assured his legendary status in the world of the fantastic. Tom, Steve, and I are THRILLED that we were able to land some incredible talent for our covers in the series, Bernie Wrightson, Mark Schultz, Michael Wm Kaluta, and Dave Stevens are big reasons why Tom Steve, and I have such a massive love of the sequential arts. These guys have been carrying the torch for our beloved EC stable of artists, the classic lines of Al Feldstein, Johnny Craig, Bernie Kriegstein, Wally Wood, amongst a host of others. To land these top talents to work on our little Sci-Fi tale is like winning the lottery. Then we have the cherry on top, Basil Fucking Gogos. We are delirious with delight.
If all goes according to plan we'll be releasing a special oversized hardcover black and white trade edition first, limited to 500 copies. On the heels of that will come our full color trade edition.
More news soon.
Discussion on Bad Planet #6, and all other things RAW is happening now on our forums!
