Been a while since an update so it's about time. I've been spending most of my time online over at the RAW Forums and updating there.
What have I been doing lately? Well at the end of October I published a book I'm very proud of, SHOCK FESTIVAL is a tour de force journey through the twisted back-alleys of an underground Hollywood Babylon you've never dreamed of. The new coffee table book is the brainchild of screenwriter Stephen Romano and is PACKED FULL of ONE HUNDRED AND ONE of the most bizarre, obscure, monster movies, blaxploitation films, slasher flicks, and perverted sci-fi celluloid masterpieces no one has EVER seen. From the super sexy Starfire Beyond The Galaxy to the nauseating Universe Of Blood, SHOCK FESTIVAL will make you grin with delight at the idea of a parallel universe of trashy films that should have existed. Check out the link and you'll see what I mean. And oh yeah, I did a bunch of art and posters for it too. Discussion going on at the RAW forum
Aside from that I also put the finishing touches on my new art book, Archetype, which should be hitting shops and Amazon on January 16, '09. It's hardcover, it's 308 pages jam packed with covers, illustrations, movie poster designs, and personal drawings from my 22 year career.
Also, The final issue of Bad Planet is in stores now, with a GORGEOUS Dave Stevens cover! Trade Editions of BAD PLANET and ALIEN PIG FARM 3000 (both from RAW) will be available summer '09.
Also in stores as we speak is the latest Criminal Macabre arc, Cellblock 666. Written by pal Steve Niles, and drawn by "Nefarious" Nick Stakal. Don''t you miss it!
My newest project is a very cool little dream-come-true gig, illustrating ROBERT E. HOWARD'S DESERT ADVENTURES. The new book from Paradox/Del Rey features the classic pulp adventures of El Borak, Kirby O'Donnell, and Steve Clarney. Not sure yet about release dates but will report o that as information becomes available.
In addition to all of that I'm proud to announce the release of Clive Barker's Age Of Desire, a graphic novel I illustrated back in 1991 that has never been released until now. Adapted by the legendary P. Craig Russell from Clive Barker's dark vision of the last days of a genetically altered and homicidally ecstatic sexual compulsive. Recently revised with its original ending restored! Hard cover, 7x10, 64pgs, B&W.
