It happens every year, thousands upon thousands of comic and film fans FLOCK to the gaslamp district of downtown San Diego for the annual sardine-fest. Is it packed? You betcha. Is it insane? Most certainly. It's the biggest show of it's kind in North America. This show needs no promotion so I'll stop there.
For the 4th year in a row me and my partner, Thomas Jane will be on site, live and in person-like at the RAW Studios booth. TJ and I have ourselves a little boutique publishing company we're real proud of. We've created things like Bad Planet, a 6 issue sci-fi/horror mini series, and another book called Alien Pig Farm 3000, written by the amazing Todd Farmer! - This year we're unveiling the long-awaited, full color trade paperback collection of Bad Planet - (A limited edition, black and white, oversized hardcover edition was released earlier this year). The new trade edition features not just all that luscious artwork by James Daly and myself in FULL COLOR, but also boasts a 16 page section in SUPERTERROR 3-D! Add to that a massive extra 40+ pages of ancillary bonus material, a cover gallery that features finished AND preliminary visions by our murderer's row of cover artists (Bernie Wrightson, Mark Schultz, Michael Wm. Kaluta, James Daly, Lewis LaRosa, myself, and DAVE STEVENS), LOADS of concept art, rare photos, and all designs from the making of this landmark series. The cherry on top is this edition's cover art by horror art icon BASIL GOGOS!!!!!! This book is off the hook cool and we'll be premiering this brand new edition at the 2010 show. This year, Tom and I are joined by industry legend, writer Bruce Jones (Creepy, Eerie, The Hulk), and not just cause he's a handsome bloke, nope, we've got a big announcement to make, and we'll be doing so at the RAW panel, Saturday, July 24 at 6:30 PM. Check your Comicon listings for location. I can't tell you how excited we are about this.
As always I'll have copious amounts of originals on display (and for sale) as well as a massive collection of full color and black and white giclee/museum quality prints on hand - Punisher, Hellblazer, the gang's all here. I am glad to see a now Punisher cover. I love the Mad Max influense. Good work!
And i am also wondering how it goes with Thomas Jane´s Devils Commandos ?
